Real Person Commercial Enterprise

A person who operates a commercial enterprise, even partially, on his own behalf is called a merchant (TTK article 12).

The trade name of the real person trader consists of his/her name and surname written without abbreviation (TTK article 41). Additions can be made to the name and surname in accordance with Article 46 of the Turkish Commercial Code. In the title; Plural suffixes, names of other persons and foreign words that will create the impression of a partnership should not be used (TTK art. 46/2 and Trade Registry Regulation art. 44).

In cases involving the business owner’s capacity, such as being under custody or guardianship or having a legal advisor appointed to him/her; This situation and who the parent, guardian or legal advisor is are recorded. In case these situations occur later, the same provision applies (Commercial Registry Regulation article 50/2).
